The brief
What We Were Asked to Do
Replace an ageing WordPress site for Northern Ireland's best-known seaside resort with a fast, static rebuild - carrying over every page's search visibility, not just its look, while bringing the content up to a standard the town deserves.
Research & discovery
What We Looked Into First
- Full audit of the existing WordPress export: every page, URL and word count catalogued before a line of new content was written.
- Google Search Console and Analytics data pulled and merged into a tiered priority list, so the highest-traffic pages were rebuilt first.
- Fact-checking against primary and heritage sources caught real errors in the old content - including a misattributed "world first" radio transmission claim and a mixed-up 1940s legal dispute date.
- A site-wide link and affiliate audit caught duplicated booking links and two genuinely broken internal links before launch.
What we recommended
Design & Visual Identity
Design followed the live site's own established identity rather than replacing it - real brand colours and the site's own display typeface were extracted directly from the production site and self-hosted, so the rebuild reads as a faster version of the same brand, not a different one.
#33858Aprimary brand accent#023047navy, small body links (13.9:1 contrast)#F4F6F5page background#222222body textTypography
Rushk display face for headings (the site's own paid brand font, self-hosted), system sans-serif for body copy.
Logo & identity
Existing logo and colour identity retained and carried over faithfully - this was a performance and architecture rebuild, not a rebrand.

Automated testing can't catch everything, and it did flag a few real items here - shown openly rather than only reporting the headline score:
- One colour-contrast pairing flagged for review on a secondary element.
